Tilton’s 7.25” 1-plate metallic clutch discs are renowned for their durability, torque capacity, and heat capacity. They are well-suited for race applications due to their quick engagement characteristics. This is the most common disc type used in road racing and vintage motorsports with a racing clutch. Metallic clutches are not recommended for street use.
These discs are 10-spline to fit the Sprite and Midget, most BMC cars, and Triumphs. Conveniently, these also fit the V4 SAAB’s Sonett / 95 / 96.
Two different styles for the hub A and F.
F-type is 0.550” thick and generally considered the preferred ‘thick' hub option for a single disk.
A-type is 0.375” and intended for multiple disc clutch setups. Some flywheels may not allow the F-type disc and can instead use the A-type; but with a reduced torque or increased wear on the splines.
The F-type is the correct disc configuration to match with the lightweight Huffaker style Spridget Flywheel, and many other Sprite/Midget flywheel combinations.
