Adapter for Concentric Hydraulic Slave onto Stock Front Cover
Adapter kit to install a ‘modern’ hydraulic annular (concentric) throw out slave to the front of a BMC A-series Sprite/Midget transmission with a stock front cover.
We have used this on all of our BMC close-ratio / straight-cut racing transmissions for years. As a bonus, we can access the remote bleeder from the top of the transmission without twisting and contorting to reach the slave bleeder in the stock location on the side of the transmission.
Does not require removing the front cover. Works with front covers that have been modified to use a modern lip seal on the input shaft.
Properly positions the bleed side of the hydraulics at the top to eliminate air when bleeding. It can become very frustrating to bleed this style of throw-out when air can remain trapped at the top of the hydraulic cylinder.
Please specify the intended use. Distance back-spacing available for racing Tilton style 7.25” clutch/flywheel setups, and the MED-Engineering 7.5” clutch/flywheel kit. Also available for use with stock flywheel and clutch however this may require modification to the aluminum bell housing or custom made hose connections due to how far recessed into the bell housing that the stock clutch extends.
Uses the SAAB 900 hydraulic slave unit still in production and available. This slave cylinder has a roller release bearing and the internal seals can be rebuilt. You supply the slave cylinder. Typically will require custom hydraulic hoses based on your car setup. We do offer a short -3an hose set separately.
